PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds datamine suggests desert map name changes

And three new guns.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been undergoing a lot of changes recently as developer Bluehole prepares for the release of PC version 1.0 and an Xbox One release. While features such as vaulting, killcam and improved physics are being tested on the game's PTR, a release date still hasn't been confirmed for version 1.0 and the highly anticipated new desert map.

However, it seems it won't be long until the desert map is ready. An image datamined from the game's files by serial reddit hound bizzfarts shows what appears to be the desert map's latest design, looking almost complete, with spanglish names and everything.

Unfortunately this means there is no more Murderland or Kill Box, but instead Santa Domingo, El Pozo and other poorly-translated spanish names.

The map has clearly come on leaps and bounds since the last datamined image we saw two weeks ago, once again by the wonderfully-named bizzfarts.

On top of this, bizzfarts also datamined images of three new weapons which could make an appearance in the new map: a Winchester 1894 (Lever-action rifle), a Rhino (Revolver) and a sawed off double-barrel shotgun. Though all three weapons would be a great addition to the new sandy, Wild West-style map, there is no confirmation they will actually be seen in the future.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will come to Xbox One via Xbox Game Preview on 12th December, with PC version 1.0 (and the desert map) expected to be released before the end of the year.
