Ambush at Sea and Way of the Gabiniani and are the thirteenth and fourtheenth quests you'll encounter in Assassin's Creed Origins, which have you tackle a spot of sea combat and even target Cleopatra herself, and follow on from The Crocodile's Jaws.

We'll cover everything you need to know about completing Ambush at Sea and Way of the Gabiniani below, while you can head back to our main Assassin's Creed Origins walkthrough and guide hub for all the other missions so far, and more.

Ambush at Sea

If you played AC IV: Black Flag this section will be immediately familiar, but if you're new to naval warfare it's actually pretty straightforward.

Start by heading towards the marker. As soon as the enemy ships are in sight follow the onscreen prompts to take aim with the arrows and let a volley loose. Keep concentrating fire on one ship, and when it starts to sink turn your attention to the next.

Once all three are down head for the next marker; the smaller vessels will be joined buy a much larger one, but you only need to sink the big ship - the little ones are just a distraction, and if you can position yourself so that the larger vessel is between you and the smaller ones they may help you out with a bit of friendly fire.

Way of the Gabiniani

With nine of the conspirators down, Cleopatra has a lead on the next step in the chain, and she's now become a target herself.

Start by talking to her in Herakleion, and then head into town to speak to the brothel owner. When the conversation is over make your way upstairs and wait for the twins to appear and have a quick chat to learn the location of Venator's room.

Need more help? Our Assassin's Creed Origins walkthrough and guide will take you through every step of the main story and quests, whilst we also have guides on how to grind XP and level up, plus explainers on how Assassin's Creed Origins sidequests work, alongside how to get crafting materials and animal goods, and even complete solutions and walkthroughs to all Assassin's Creed Origins Tombs, Silica, and Anchient Mechanisms. We also have a list of all Papyrus Puzzle locations, Origins' cursed and legendary weapons and how they're acquired, and finally a detailed page Phylakes, Phylakes' Prey and how to get the Black Hood outfit.

Once there examine the arrow-studded bust of Cleopatra, smash the jars on the other side of the door to find a letter (and an angry cobra), and then look at the box on the other side of the room.

Use Senu to locate your three targets. The infiltrator and archer can both be dealt with undetected from a safe distance with an arrow to the head, but the lamplighter is lurking around with some guards near the canal so may require a more hands-on approach.

Head back to the palace to report to Cleopatra; after a short conversation a wave of enemies will storm the courtyard, and then Venator will show up. He's got quite a long reach with his weapon, and he can stun you quite easily if he catches you, so dodge backwards when he swings then flank round to his side to deal a few blows before retreating again.
