Jak and Daxter games are coming to PS4

Should look better than the PS3 remaster.

Four of Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter games are coming to PS4 later this year as PS2 Classics.

These include Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing.

Each title will receive an HD upgrade consisting of 1080p up-rendering and Trophy support.

Other nifty bonuses on Sony's contemporary hardware include Shareplay, Remote Play and Activity Feeds.

It's worth noting that these HD upgrades aren't the same as the spruced up Jak and Daxter Trilogy that came to PS3 in 2012, as the PS4 hardware isn't compatible with PS3 software.

According to Digital Foundry's John Linneman, this PS2 version on PS4 will likely look better than the previous PS3 remaster.

"The PS3 HD version was missing visual effects," Linneman explained. "The shiny metallic surfaces, for instance, were all missing. If you emulate the PS2 original and bump the resolution up to 1080p or more, it should wind up looking better than if you just ported the HD versions."

Another exciting part of this restoration is that it includes Jak X: Combat Racing, which has not been available in any form outside of its 2005 retail release.
