The reward for collecting all 900 Zelda: Breath of the Wild Korok seeds is a bit poo

Log entry.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has an astonishing 900 Korok seed collectibles hidden throughout its vast world.

Hestu, your focal point for the largest collectible quest in Zelda history.

Finding all 900 feels like an impossible task - but Reddit user xFateAwaitsx has now done it, and revealed a rather surprising reward.

Korok seeds are used for upgrading your inventory space, although you don't even need all of them to do that. Collecting the 900th seed and handing it over to your Korok friend Hestu simply provides... a poo-shaped "gift".

It's not just that it's poo-shaped. We're pretty sure it is... actual poo.

"A gift of friendship given to you by Hestu," the item's description reads. "It smells pretty bad."

Is this Nintendo providing commentary on the endless, unfulfilling nature of modern open world game collectible grabbing?

Is this a canon explanation that Koroks, as little tree people, are actually fertilising Hyrule using tree seeds made out of their poop?

Maybe. Or maybe it's just a joke.

Here's how the item looks, although beware other spoilery items shown in the inventory:

Yep.
