Finally, you can play Solitaire on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and rack up Xbox achievements.

Microsoft has allowed rival mobile platforms to host its games and dole out Xbox Gamerscore for some time, but this is the first time in the 26-year history of Microsoft Solitaire versions that you can play it on a rival platform.

The game is free to download and play, but there is a monthly $2 subscription to a Premium Edition which removes ads, doubles your coin rewards and boosts in-game progress. Solitaire was never like this in my day.

Download the game now, however, and its Premium Edition is free until the end of 2016.

As with the Windows version you likely have on your PC, the game includes classic Klondike Solitaire, Spider, Freecell, Tripeaks and Pyramid variants, as well as daily challenges.

Microsoft's "iconic" falling card finish screen is also included. Yay.
