When you're ready to proceed with your next primary quest, return to the baron's stronghold in Velen and head across the courtyard. Once the cutscene ends, enter the main building and make your way to the baron's chamber. Speak with the sergeant and ask to take Uma.

Tell the person minding the stables that you are taking Uma

Head outside again, cross the courtyard and talk to the stable master. Note that starting the conversation will automatically fail The Last Wish secondary quest if you've not completed it alread, so you might want to take care of that first.

With Uma now in your care, the action switches to Vizima where some old friends await. Fill the king in on your adventures and wrap up the conversation. Next, work your way through the dialogue options with Yennefer and prepare to journey to Kaer Morhen. On your arrival, speak to Vesemir and, once the conversation ends, decide which of your three tasks to do first.

How to find Yennefer in her chamber

Help Yennefer fix the megascope

As you're close to the tower, you might as well pay Yennefer a visit. Reaching her, however, can be a bit of a pain if you're not familiar with the area. Head across the yard and up the incline to the right. Once you reach the wooden platform directly ahead, take a left then, at the end, take another left. Follow the walkway along and pass through the large archway to the right.

On the other side, climb the slope ahead and follow the path around to the north-east. Locate the stone steps a little further on to your right and make your way up, passing through the large wooden doors at the top. This brings you close to the main tower. Head east, winding up the steps, until you reach the tower entrance. Finally, make your way inside.

Yennefer waits in her chamber, reached by ascending the spiral staircase that's found in a room to the east. Follow the objective marker to your destination.

Once you locate Yennefer, work your way through the conversation options and ask what you can do to help. She reveals that you'll need to neutralise the energy source nearby in order to fix the megascope. Ask for more details to receive the potestaquisitor.

How to neutralise the energy source and fix the megascope

Find the source of the magical disturbance using the potestaquisitor

Make sure the device is equipped to one of your pockets, then activate it. Head back downstairs and return to the tower's large entrance hall. The potestaquisitor begins to squeal as you near the objective marker. Start exploring the highlighted area on your mini-map until the signal grows louder. Approach the doorway in the south-west corner of the room and look for the stack of crates between the columns on the right. Examine them to continue.

Let Yennefer know you removed the source of the disturbance

Once Vesemir has shifted the boxes, return to Yennefer and talk again. Welcome Ida when she appears and work your way through the conversation to learn more about the curse. Ask Ida what the problem is when the chance arises, then bring the sequence to a close.

Talk to Lambert about journeying to the Circle of Elements

Now that Yennefer's task is complete, head back down into the main hall and seek out Lambert. Chat with him to learn of your next challenge. If you're ready to make your way to the Circle of Elements, agree to leave immediately.
