Where Children Toil, Toys Waste Away

Head for the marker, and when the cut-scene finishes, beat off the thugs. Once they're dealt with, talk to the kid to get a lead, and then follow Regis to your next stop. Once inside the toyshop, read the eviction notice by the door, examine the toy sword, and then head upstairs. Examine the drawing on the wall and the tools on the desk, take and read the list of names in the alcove to the right of the desk, then take the suspicious letter from next to the box by the top of the stairs and talk to Regis about what you've found so far.

Wine is Sacred

Head to the Duchess and explain the situation. Once you've had a little nasal assistance, you'll end up on the road to Castel Ravello. Follow your companions to your destination - while on the road, you'll have to stop to save some peasants under attack from Panthers, but it's otherwise an uneventful journey.

Interrogating Fabricio leads nowhere, so head for the cellar and read the inventory log on the desk. The Sangreal is located on the upper tier of the cellar, so climb the wooden stairs and head for the corner above the desk and read the sign. Knock on the barrels to see if any are empty, and then locate a wine tap and a hammer - the tap is on a barrel at the bottom of the wooden stairs, and the hammer is on another barrel on the wall opposite. Return to the Duchess and tap the barrels for her, working your way along the row until you find the dud - for us it was the second barrel from the sign, but it may be random. Question Fabricio again, and a plan is formed...

After a brief cut-scene, you'll be facing off against a group of thugs. Take them down and then interrogate the prisoner - the threat of being live bait is a great way to get people to talk, so now you have a lead, head to the port to wait for the Captain to return, and the dialogue that follows brings the quest to a close.

The Man From Cintra

If you want to look good for the party, head for the tailors and pick up a new outfit, otherwise go straight to the rendezvous point - either way, keep your wits about you, as Geralt's now a marked man and you'll likely come under attack as you walk the streets.

When you reach the party you can go straight into looking for your target, or you can take part in some of the diversions the party has to offer: throw paintballs at the wall, take a shot of absinthe, knock a couple of mimes over, watch a magician, and light a lantern. Look in the first alcove on the left of the area, and then head to the food tables and use Witcher senses to find the heart shaped box. Follow the scent trail around the left side of the pool and along the balcony at the back to a door and head inside - you're name's not down, so you're not going in. Thankfully, the guard isn't just hired muscle and after a brief discussion, you'll be allowed upstairs, so follow the scent trail to the end door on the right.

Examine the body, then follow the trail out onto the balcony. Cross the makeshift bridge and head round the corner, climb the ivy-covered ladder, and enter the upstairs room. Examine the broken mirror, bloodstain, jewellery box, broken chain and the jewel next to it, inkwell, slashed painting, knife, and second jewellery item, then look at the wonky candlesticks and bloodstain on the window ledge to piece together the events.

Capture the Castle

IMPORTANT: When you get 100 yards or so away from the mill, the game will prompt you to save. You're approaching a point of no return in the story and some side-quests will become unavailable, so before proceeding, make sure you're ready.

Head towards the marker, save when prompted, and then wait until midnight for your reinforcements to arrive. Discuss the plan with Damien and the game will take you to the castle, where you'll face off against half a dozen knights. Once they're down, follow the markers, taking out the pockets of resistance as you go - most of your opponents are unaware of your presence so you should be able to get the drop on some of them to make your life easier. When the fighting's over talk to Roderick, and once you've learned all you need, either opt to help him out or leave him to die.

Go through the gates and continue your assault - the enemies get a little tougher here with a few named foes thrown in amongst the sword-fodder, culminating in a fight against a few dozen opponents, although for this last fight you'll have some handy assistance from Dettlaff and Regis.

The Night of Long Fangs

Things have gone a little sideways, and the action opens with a fight against a Bruxae. As soon as you get control of Geralt, apply Vampire oil to your sword, down a vial of Black Blood, equip Yrden, and take the beast down.

After the fight, you'll have a conversation with Regis and be faced with the choice of taking Syanna to Dettlaff, or confronting him head on. You can either choose during the conversation or take the option to think about it, but eventually you'll have to come down on one side or the other. At this point, the plot divides based on what you decide.
