That Tuesday, 30th August release date appears to be worldwide and for all three platforms: PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The Game of the Year edition includes the base Witcher 3 game as well as both expansion packs - Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine - and all downloadable content.

We first heard about a Game of the Year edition of The Witcher 3 in July.

It's been well over a year now since The Witcher 3 arrived and knocked us for six. Simply put: it's fantastic - a benchmark by which to measure all other fantasy role-playing games from hereon out. In our The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt review, Oli said it was "the best role-playing game in years".

16 pieces of The Witcher 3 downloadable content were dished out in the weeks following the game's release, and included new finishing move animations, new outfits, new quests, armour and more.

Largely spoiler-free, but we do discuss expansion content.Watch on YouTube

Then, in autumn last year, the first of the game's two expansions was released: a playful, 10-hour story dubbed Hearts of Stone. "A delightful romp," wrote Cassandra in our review of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone - "if you need more Witcher 3 with your Witcher 3."

The main event, however, was the release of second expansion Blood and Wine in May this year - a goliath add-on with a whole new region to gawp at and content enough to last you 30 hours or more. "A fitting end to an exceptional video game," said Johnny in our review of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine.
