Forbidden Siren is out now on PS4

Its remake is currently free for PS Plus members.

PlayStation 2 cult classic horror game Forbidden Siren (or just Siren in other territories) is now available on PS4.

Priced at £7.99, this classic title has received 1080p up-rendering, Trophies, SharePlay and Vita Remote Play. It's also 25 per cent off through 21st June.

Forbidden Siren is set in the rural Japanese village Hanuda, where people have transformed into terrifying bloodthirsty zombie-like creatures. Players assume the role of 10 different character who have found themselves in this ungodly place and they must use a strange power called "sightjacking" to see through the eyes of those who hunt them. It's a weird idea, but one that offers a completely unique take on stealth horror.

Coincidentally (or maybe not so coincidentally), Forbidden Siren's PS3 remake, Siren: Blood Curse, is now available as a free title for PlayStation Plus subscribers as part of June's Instant Game Collection.

Still, purists, historians, and those with nostalgia for the original are finally able to revisit the game that started it all.
