The Eurogamer Podcast - Overwatch, Doom and Total War: Warhammer

This is a really good week to talk about video games.

Right, yes. This should have gone up on Tuesday, but I was a little busy freaking out about giving Overwatch an Essential badge. Donlan likes to tell me that when we do give a game the big golden sticker, the review has to feel like an event. An event. That really adds to the pressure of writing the thing.

So we're a few days later than usual, but it'll hopefully be worth the wait. Because aside from a disappointing Gran Turismo Sport reveal and some confusion surrounding the different versions of Fire Emblem Fates, we've got some exceptional games to talk about this week.

Martin is absolutely in love with the new Doom, despite our initial concerns that it was going to be a disaster. He thinks this 'deboot' really understands what made the Doom series so special back in the '90s, and it's fun to hear him talk about that.

But really, this week is all about me. Finally. Not only has Blizzard's fantastic team-based shooter launched, but we've now got our hands on Total War: Warhammer. And yeah, it turns out we were right to get all excitable about those two franchises working together. Get in.

We're also joined by the lovely Wesley Yin-Poole who tries his best to be cynical, but it's a really tough week for that.
