Fallout 4: Far Harbor - Cleansing the Land

You face a choice of three rather destructive ways to end your trip to Far Harbor in this guide to one of the closing quests to the latest Fallout 4 DLC.

If you've followed our Best Left Forgotten guide, you should now be standing in the Harbor Grand Hotel on the hunt for the nuclear launch key. If not, haul yourself over there. On the first floor, fight your way through the Super Mutants to the quest marker. If you find yourself barred by toppled bookshelves, head back down the corridor a bit and through a room off to the side. Go through the holes in the walls to get around, then tap into the keypad and reveal the safe room behind the bookcase.

Use the terminal and find the location of the code. There's also a holotape on the floor near the woman's skeleton if you're curious about what happened in the room. Once you're done, head back out onto the island. It's time for another long trek, this time to the Southwest corner of the map. See you when you get there.

If you find yourself at Fringe Cove Docks, you're in the right place. Exit your power armour if you're wearing any and dive into the water, swimming down into the small boat and raiding the safe.

This is as far as you should go with this quest if you want to do the Reformation ending.

The final stages of Cleansing the Land offer you three options:

Bring Down Far Harbor's Defenses

For this quest you need to go East of Acadia to Wind Farm Maintenance. Inside, at the bottom of the stairs there's a button that doesn't work. You need four fuses - three are on the shelving near the door and there's one on the bench by the fuse box itself, which you can find by following the wire to the door button.

Fight through to turbine number three and choose the bottom command. This action will doom the residents of Far Harbor to the fog. Your reward will be Atom's Bulwark, an armour piece you can get along with lots of other good stuff if you instead choose to do the Reformation quest. You also get the Crusader of Atom perk which gives you bonus weapon damage the more irradiated you are.

Use the Launch Key

Alternatively you can wipe out the Children of Atom by rigging the submarine to blow. Follow the map marker and insert the key. You'll have about half a minute to escape through a hail of radiation-rigged gunfire from the now hostile religious nuts. Once safe, head to Allen in Far Harbor for a reward.

You Just Want to Set the World on Fire

If you really don't care what Nick thinks, you can destroy The Nucleus and Far Harbor. Why? Well, because you're a virtual sociopath, obviously.

Whatever you choose, all that's left is to complete the quest Close to Home and report Kasumi's fate to the Nakanos.
