Halo 5's Forge is coming to Windows 10 this year for free

Upload maps to Xbox One.

Halo 5's Forge map creator is coming to Windows 10 as a standalone free download later this year.

Dubbed Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 (that's the full title), this PC port will include some enhancements like support for 4k resolution and mouse & keyboard controls.

Levels built in the Windows 10 game can be uploaded to Halo 5 on Xbox One.

"Forge on the PC will finally give the mouse/keyboard editing precision the community has always been clamoring for," said 343 Industries UGC director Tom French on the Xbox Wire. "On top of that, an updated and optimised UI geared towards mouse interactions makes a lot of the inputs in Forge easier/faster than before."

Now the question remains: with Forge coming to Windows 10, could Halo 5 be all that far behind?
