Uncharted 4 - Chapter 7: Lights Out

A guide to how to use stealth to sneak and fight your way through the second part of the Italian heist in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

This next chapter, the second part of the Italian heist, is a combination of stealth and combat. Avoiding detection as much as possible is preferable, but if you do get caught, it's only the guards in your current location that are alerted; once you've killed them or they've lost your trail, things will return to normal. Here's our guide to navigating it.

Head up the stairs to your left and follow the walkway. Jump out onto the roof at the end and then leap across to the tower, where you'll get a brief tutorial about the stealth mechanic. Shimmy round the edge to the left and drop onto the small lower sloping roof, then climb the tower and pull the guard down to his death. Carry on round the corner and drop down to the lower level, pass through the tower and grab the neighbouring roof. Carry on round it and grab the ledge on the next tower. Shimmy further left to the flagpole, then swing across to the next building and take cover behind a pillar.

Stay in cover and head left, then dash for the small balcony ahead. Jump out onto the narrow roof and round the corner, taking cover behind the convenient box. When the guard's torch is pointing away, run for the longer roof, wait behind the chimney for another chance to run, and make for the end of the roof and up the wall.

Head left and round the corner into a garden. Take refuge in the tall grass and do stealth takedowns of the guards as they approach. Once the coast is clear, head up the two flights of steps to an upper courtyard - there are a lot of guards patrolling below, so take cover behind a flowerbed and wait for them to move on, then climb onto the small illuminated roof and make your way up and right onto the next roof. Once there, hit L3 to locate your destination, then carry on up and through the open window.

Open the door and prepare for a fistfight. It's mostly scripted, so throw a few punches and answer the questions as you see fit - it doesn't seem to make any difference - then press [SQUARE] when prompted.

Swing across the flagpoles and climb onto the roof, then jump across to the octagonal roof and take cover behind the flowerbed. When the coast is clear, jump across to the semicircular balcony. Jump from the table in front of the arch onto the brass bar, and then from there swing across to the wall, head left, and grab the sign. At this point, combat is now unavoidable, so once you have a gun take out the two guards then climb over the sign and head towards where they were.

When the replacement guards are looking the other way, jump towards the closest one; stay hanging from the ledge until he's gone inside the building, then follow him in and do a stealth takedown. Then head for the second guard and do likewise. Two more guards will now appear, so wait for the first one to approach you before taking him out while his friend is looking the other way. Dispatch the second, then sneak down the steps and into the building opposite through the upper window.

A guard will approach from ahead, so take cover behind a pillar and wait for him to head left before tackling him. Take cover to the left of the arch he entered through and wait for another guard to enter and take him down, then deal with the last one patrolling the pergola ahead. Climb out onto the small roof on the far side and leap across, clamber over the wall, and head for the wheeled wooden trolley in the garden.

Push it to the statue and take cover in the grass on the far left - we won't need it, but it helps separate the guards in the oncoming fight. The noise will attract their attention and draw some into the garden, allowing you to deal with them in batches rather than all at once. Take out the first guard to enter once he reaches the balcony area and then take cover behind the wall there - it gives you a decent vantage point to take out the next few that come downstairs. Once there are no more downstairs, head up and deal with the stragglers, then grab the zipline on the far roof.

It's now a full-on assault. Make use of cover and head for the door that the goons are coming through, then deal with more outside while Scully comes to the rescue. Push your way down the courtyard then get into the car when it's reasonably safe to do so, and get the heck outta there!
