Uncharted 4 - Chapter 20: No Escape
Nate and friends try to escape the island in this chapter. Here's our walkthrough with treasure locations included.
Things are coming to a head now, as Nate tries to get all his friends together and get off the island in this chapter, which is dominated by intense combat. Here's our guide to surviving the chapter, including treasure locations and journal entries.
Head up the rocks on the right and admire the view before following the narrow overhang to the right.
- Treasure: Jade Flower Pendant - After passing along the narrow overhang, climb onto the small ledge to your right. Position yourself in the corner between the edge and the barrel, take a run-up and use your piton to grab the rock on the other side - it's tight, and you may need to take a slightly curved run to build up enough speed and be jumping from the closest point to get enough height. Climb to the ledge above to find the pendant.
Swing across at the end with your rope and head forwards to the far corner, then turn left and swing across using the wooden pole. The area ahead is swarming with enemies and there's little opportunity for stealth, so fight your way forwards and down to the beach - there are two heavily armoured minigun soldiers at the bottom, so proceed with caution.
Make your way through the ships and watch out for the guy with the grenade launcher on the upper deck. When it's clear, move the blockage out of the door and head left. Fight off a few more enemies, then drop down through the gap to locate Sam. Clear the area and then climb up the rope ladder to him - only to be immediately dropped through the deck.
More combat, and your first target should be the guy with the RPG on the left-hand upper deck of the teracotta-coloured ship. Head through the ship, jump up to grab the RPG, and then cross the fallen mast to the other ship and repel more enemies. Eventually an APC will arrive and Sam and Elena will climb up ahead. Grab Elena's hand and follow the pair of them until you're plunged into the sea.
Swim through the hole ahead then surface to get some air, then quickly dive down as the ship sinks and head through another hole in the wall of the lower deck in front of you. Come up for more air, then continue your swim until you emerge on the beach. It's full of people shooting at you, so head for cover quickly. Clear the enemies and an APC will arrive and drop a few more off, so kill them and then grab the RPG and take a few shots at the truck to put it out of commission.
Climb through the now-destroyed wall and quickly climb up the far side of the wooden barrier to reach higher ground. You now need to outrun the armoured assault vehicle, so stick to the left of the screen and double back up the stairs when you reach them. Climb up the tower and it'll collapse, dropping you back in front of the truck. Stick to the left again, run up the ramp, and jump to the right. When the camera flips around, use your rope to swing to the next wooden platform and climb over the wall.
Stick to the right and jump over the fence and round the corner. Keep hugging the right and head full speed until the truck gets stuck on a ledge, then grab the RPG that Sully throws down ahead of you and use it to take the troublesome vehicle out of action. Take Sully's hand and climb up to him; now the band's back together again. After the cutscene, follow them through the abandoned town.
- Treasure: Stoneware Bearded Jug - When you reach an open square with a wonky sign in the middle, double back to your left and enter the door at the far left. The treasure is just to the left of the door.
When Sully points out his plane and you reach a dead end, head for the wagon to the right of the far side of the area and push it into place.
- Treasure: Stout Jade Vase - Jump into the canal upstream of the broken wooden bridge and head under the overhanging building. Climb through the hole in the floor and the treasure is on the table inside.
Climb up onto the wagon and head to the large barn, then climb up under the right-hand open window and jump through to proceed. Another dead end. Climb up onto the low wooden platform on the right to draw everyone's attention to it, then drop to the floor and use your rope on the rail underneath it. Nothing happens, but if you wait a few seconds Elena will mention a wooden platform on the other side. Head over to her, and then Sam will eventually get an idea.
Give him a hand shoving the beam and then jump from the end to the aforementioned platform. Wait for everyone to get on the skyrail and then drag it across with your rope - it only takes a little tug to get it going. When it comes to a standstill, climb up the rope to the bar underneath and then jump to Sam's hand. As is always the way, it doesn't go quite according to plan, so climb up and jump off to the left. Once Sam has gone his own way, follow the others up the hill to another dead end.
- Treasure: Painted Spouted Vase - When you reach the dead end, find the statue of Avery and stand behind him. Head into the large building 45 degrees to your left and go upstairs to find this on the right at the top.
- Journal Note: On the ground floor of the same building.
- Treasure: Mughal Perfume Bottle - When behind the Avery statue, head for the building 45 degrees to your right and climb through the hole in the corner of the nearby building. The item is in the far right.
Push the wagon up the slope and use it to climb over the wall and end the chapter.
