Uncharted 4 - How to find all the Conversations

Our fourth collectible guide lists all 36 points during the game at which you can trigger optional conversations.

Our next collectible guide is for Uncharted 4's optional Conversations. At certain points during the game, you'll get a chance to talk to your companions in a bit more detail by pressing the triangle button. Sometimes you need to complete another action first in order to open up the option for the conversation. Here's a list of how to trigger every one of the 36 optional Conversations, in the order that you will come across them in the game. If playing through the game for the first time, you might want to use our walkthrough (linked at the bottom of this page), which also includes the locations of all the conversations.

All Uncharted 4 conversations

CHAPTER 3

  1. Talk to the crewman on the raised area.
  2. Talk to the crewmen unloading the cargo.

CHAPTER 6

  1. Talk to Sam when he says “it's the little things you miss”.
  2. Talk to Sam when he asks if you took any photos of your adventures.
  3. After being reunited with Sully, talk to Sam on the balcony.

CHAPTER 8

  1. Speak to Sam after examining the statues in the puzzle room.
  2. Talk to Sam after solving the puzzle.

CHAPTER 9

  1. After solving the wheel puzzle, head down the left fork ahead and stand on the edge. Nathan will say “watch your step” and that will trigger a conversation.

CHAPTER 10

  1. Speak to Sam at the small signal tower (after the open area).
  2. Speak to Sully at the small signal tower (after the open area).

CHAPTER 11

  1. Buy the apple and talk to the man with the lemur, and then talk to Sully after your apple is stolen.

CHAPTER 12

  1. After you've jumped across to the area where Sam is about to push a box down to you, head to the far end and talk to him when he mentions the view.
  2. At the bottom of the cistern, examine the five items in the map room and the supplies on the table in the store room, then talk to Sam.

CHAPTER 14

  1. Speak to Sam on the wooden platform below your starting position.
  2. Sit on the chair in the large building ahead and to the left of your starting position.
  3. Examine the sword in the blacksmiths on the right of the area, then talk to Sam.
  4. Examine the horse in the stable (opposite the blacksmith) then talk to Sam.
  5. Wander around the lower area with the Avery statue and Sam will stick his head in the stocks and trigger a conversation.
  6. In the final area of the chapter with the signs of battle and jumbles of junk, wait for Sam to bend down and examine a corpse then go and talk to him.

CHAPTER 15

  1. Examine the skeleton pinned to the wall with the spears poking out of him, then talk to Sam.
  2. Wait for Sam to examine a picture and then talk to him when he calls you over. (Note: while this counts as an optional conversation, you have to speak to him to progress the plot.)

CHAPTER 16

  1. Read the letter on the desk to the left in the attic, then talk to Sam.
  2. In the room behind the stairs on the ground floor, look at the Pyrate book, then talk to Sam.
  3. Speak to him again after the second conversation.

CHAPTER 17

  1. Speak to Elena after boosting her up the ladder.
  2. Talk to Elena when you reach the top of the stream.
  3. After the first elevator ride and the short fight, walk over to the elevator and talk to Elena.
  4. Talk to her again when she walks off after conversation 3.
  5. During the third elevator ride, wait for Elena to say the view looks like a postcard then speak to her.
  6. Speak to her again after conversation 5.

CHAPTER 18

  1. Examine the small wooden sign to the left of the starting area, then talk to Elena after she translates it.
  2. Examine the large doors in the starting area and then talk to Elena after she's finished her translation.
  3. In the area with the waterfall and the stone pergola, pick up the note on the table and then talk to Elena.
  4. After the roof collapses and you're plunged back into the water Elena will ask how you are, so talk to her.
  5. When you reach the room with the piano wait a few moments for Elena to explore, and then speak to her.

EPILOGUE

  1. Head outside and follow the dog to the jetty, then talk to it.
