Hearthstone: Whispers of the Old Gods leaked by a painting on a wall

Mistakes were made.

Hearthstone's next major expansion has been leaked via a painting on a wall.

Blizzard's collectible card battler is due for its next big expansion. The developer has scheduled a livestream event at 6pm tomorrow, 11th March, to detail "what's coming next for the game".

But, 24 hours early, someone in New York spotted a guy painting an advertising mural - which clearly shows Whispers of the Old Gods as the new Hearthstone expansion name.

#OLDGODS lies behind the green tape.

"So this is a hand painted advertisement I found on the way to work today," Reddit user That_Azzin wrote. "I don't know if it has been announced yet but it looks like the next expansion will be Whispers of Old Gods."

That_Azzin then revisited the mural later to see how the painting was going.

"I went back today and it's 9am. OMG they taped off with green tape the #OLDGODS lol".

We'll have full details on the expansion tomorrow afternoon.
