The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD includes a cheeky nod to the as-yet untitled new Legend of Zelda for Wii U.

Twilight Princess' new HD edition, released in the UK this Friday, features a couple of familiar images hidden in one of its shops (thanks HMK via Nintendo Life).

Visit Castle Town's ultra-expensive store before it becomes Malo Mart and you'll notice Zelda Wii U screenshots featured as paintings on its walls.

Nothing new of Zelda Wii U is shown - the images are screenshots Nintendo has shown off before - but it's a nice nod to the mysterious, unreleased game.

Perhaps the paintings' presence in Twilight Princess HD is a nod to Zelda Wii U's place in the overall series timeline?

Nintendo has said very little of its upcoming all-new Wii U Zelda, other than the fact it would feature a large open world. It's widely-expected to release this Christmas, and may well receive a Twilight Princess-style dual-release on Wii U and Nintendo's NX console.
