Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride on the back of a fearsome saber-tooth tiger? Chances are, probably not; but nevertheless it's something you'll be able to do in Far Cry Primal and it looks super cool!

You see, Primal's big twist is that the player character Takkar is a Beastmaster - meaning he can tame and control the various wild beasties that roam it's prehistoric world.

It's a novel feature to be sure but with the Far Cry franchise in danger of becoming another one of Ubisoft's sigh-inducing yearly churn outs, is it enough to stop the series from becoming stale?

I spent an hour playing the game - which it turns out isn't a spin off like Far Cry: Blood Dragon, but a full 40+ hour experience - and I've put my thoughts on the subject, along with a load of new gameplay in the video below.
