Kudo Tsunoda moves from Xbox to Windows apps role

Well bam, there it is.

Kinect exec Kudo Tsunoda has moved to a new role outside of Microsoft's Xbox team.

Kudo Tsunoda.

Tsunoda is now corporate vice president of Windows Apps Studio, which develops applications that fit multiple Microsoft products such as Microsoft Edge and HoloLens.

Specifically, Tsunoda will work on human interaction input, such as using voice or gesture controls (thanks, Polygon).

It's a good fit for Tsunoda, who will be remembered as creative director for Kinect on Xbox 360.

He will be replaced within the Xbox team by rising Microsoft execs Hanno Lemke and Shannon Loftis, both of whom will report to overall Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer.

Lemke moves from his role as boss of Microsoft Studios Europe, where he oversaw outfits such as Fable maker Lionhead and Kinect Sports studio Rare. Loftis, meanwhile, headed up Microsoft Studios Publishing.

All of which means that it may be a while before we see ol' Kudo again addressing Xbox owners at a press conference or interview.
