104 titles confirmed - but no COD, Halo or Red Dead Redemption.

Microsoft has unveiled its initial list of Xbox 360 games which will be backwards compatible on Xbox One.

104 titles have made the cut and will be available to play on Xbox One when the console's new dashboard launches publicly this Thursday, 12th November.

High profile games such as Assassin's Creed 2, Fable 2, Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect are all present.

Notable omissions include the highly-requested Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto 4, all of which had ranked highly on the Xbox Feedback site's list of user-requested games.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 are also not listed, but Microsoft is known to be having an issue getting multi-disc games working.

But this list is just the beginning - all Xbox Live Games with Gold titles will be backwards compatible from here on out.

Microsoft has also said that it will soon add Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3 to the rundown as well. Burnout Paradise has also been confirmed as coming at some point.
