Players won't get to vote on which multiplayer maps are played next, or veto ones they don't like, in Halo 5 Guardians. That's the word from 343 Industries studio head Josh Holmes, responding to a fan question on Twitter.

As reported by IGN, Holmes was asked whether voting or vetoes would be part of the Halo 5 multiplayer experience. "No voting or veto," came the reply, "just straight rotation". In other words, the game will cycle through all the available maps and players will have to take what they're given.

There's been no further explanation as to why the feature has been removed, though it's likely an attempt to prevent the most popular maps dominating playlists. In August, it was revealed that split-screen wouldn't be included in Halo 5, with franchise director Frank O'Connor saying "If we could do it, we would do it. But it is what they call 'nontrivial'".
