The insanely popular free-to-play Frozen mobile game is coming to Xbox One

The gold never bothered me anyway.

Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight will soon be released on Xbox One.

The Xbox Store listing for Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight mentions a 25th August 2015 release date for the free-to-download match-3 game.

From the description Frozen Free Fall on Xbox One works as it does on mobile. That is, it's free to download with in-app purchases. But there's the addition of a new local multiplayer mode on console. "Challenge your friends and family to a thrilling Snowball Fight where you dodge and throw snowballs by creating cascading combos," reads the official blurb.

Like so many others, my wife played the hell out of the Frozen game on her iPhone. She tells me you really do need to spend money in order to progress through the levels in a timely fashion. There's a timer on extra lives, so you may have to wait to play if you run out. Also, there are a number of tricky levels for which you'll end up having to buy "snowballs", which give you five extra moves. She says she really enjoyed the game, but wished she could have chucked Disney a tenner and not had to deal with the microtransactions.

The developer of the Xbox One version of Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight is SuperVillain Studios, whose credits include Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Xbox game Gun, X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and mobile title Record Run.
