Energy Hook, the new swinging game from the creator of the swinging mechanic from Spider-Man 2, launches on Steam Early Access this week.
Energy Hook is from Happion Labs, founded by Jamie Fristrom. Fristrom worked at Activision on Spider-Man 2 and Tony Hawk before going indie, and Energy Hook, built using the Unity game engine, combines elements of both. It uses the much-loved swinging mechanic from Spider-Man 2 and a trick mechanic set in a sci-fi world.
"Energy Hook is homage to my Spider-Man 2 days," Fristrom said, "a game of swinging from building to building with a grapple beam, running on walls, and doing aerial tricks, all to build up chains of tricks like in Tony Hawk or to win races like in SSX."
Energy Hook will be available on Steam Early Access on 13th August.
