Cities: Skylines publisher Paradox Interactive has revealed an expansion to its city-building game entitled After Dark.

As the title implies, After Dark's chief feature is a day/night cycle. "Will you construct a bustling city that lives and breathes at night or will your city succumb to the perils and misadventures of night life?" Paradox teased in its latest reveal.

So far it's unclear what platforms After Dark will be on since Cities: Skylines was only recently announced for Xbox One. It previously launched on PC, Mac and Linux in March.

Eurogamer contributor Dan Starkey had a lukewarm reaction to Cities: Skylines, but he seemed intrigued at how the community would evolve it. "Skylines is a merely competent game that's smart enough to let the community innovate for it," he said in his Cities: Skylines review. "All its problems and all its genuine innovation will come from the creative ambition of its players."

Despite these misgivings, our Chris Bratt still found it to be a worthwhile alternative to SimCity.
