Konami scores Euro 2016 license for PES

Won't make it into this year's game, though.

Konami has nabbed the license for Euro 2016, it's announced.

There's not much information on how it'll be used for PES, but Konami mentioned something "created specifically" for Euro 2016.

We do know the licence will not be featured in PES 2016, due out 18th September 2015, though. Perhaps we'll see something just in time for the tournament, which kicks off 10th June next year. A downloadable add-on?

EA used to have Uefa's Euro license, and released spin-off games just for it, such as UEFA Euro 2012, so the deal is something of a coup for Konami, which has in previous years struggled to keep up with EA when it comes to costly official football licenses.
