Now there's a Splatoon mod for Team Fortress 2

Nintendo's squid shooter has legs.

A team of modders have created a makeshift Splatoon mode for Team Fortress 2.

Last week, we saw how Splatoon looked in Minecraft. Now, coders have gotten the paint-based antics of Nintendo's Wii U exclusive working in Valve's popular shooter.

The mod is still in an early alpha mode, but is already playable on a version of Splatoon's Port Mackerel map.

Area coverage looks a little basic - limited to just large squares at a time - but otherwise all the mechanics are present, including the ability to switch into a squid at will.

This version includes models taken from Splatoon - so it will be interesting to see how Nintendo reacts.
