Servers to run for at least another year.

Minecreaft developer Mojang's card-combat game Scrolls isn't going to receive any additional content since its Echoes update earlier this month.

"After much deliberation, we've come to an important decision that we'd like to share: Echoes will be the last major content patch for Scrolls," Mojang said on its official blog. "We won't be adding features or sets from now on, though we are planning to keep a close eye on game balance."

The developer noted that all proceeds from the game will go towards keeping its servers up and running as long as possible. So far they're confirmed to last until at least 1st July 2016.

"The launch of the Scrolls beta was a great success," Mojang stated. "Tens of thousands of players battled daily, and many of them remain active today. Unfortunately, the game has reached a point where it can no longer sustain continuous development."

Scrolls first launched as a beta two years ago in June 2013. It didn't see an official launch until December 2014 on PC, Mac and Android platforms. An iPad version was planned, but never released. We've followed up with Mojang to see if that's still in development and will update as we hear back.

Earlier this month Mojang launched the Echoes expansion for Scrolls, which added 60 new scrolls.
