It's all about live streaming.

If you can't buy them, beat them.

That seems to be the story behind YouTube Gaming, Google's next step into the oh-so-lucrative world of video game live streaming. Last month saw the welcome addition of 1080p/60fps streams, but this summer it looks like we can expect a new website and mobile app, specifically for gaming channels.

"Live streams bring the gaming community closer together, so we've put them front-and-center on the YouTube Gaming homepage," explains yesterday's official blog post. "And in the coming weeks, we'll launch an improved live experience that makes it simpler to broadcast your gameplay to YouTube."

With this being a YouTube announcement, it made sense to put together a quick video, running through the changes and what we think they could mean for both YouTube and Twitch:
