Metal Gear Online supports 16 players on PS4, Xbox One and PC

And 12 on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, will support up to 16 players on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, however, will only support 12 players. The player counts were spotted on the game's official Japanese site (via Videogamer).

The competitive game mode will put an MGS twist on the standard deathmatch where players can set traps, tag enemy locations with their binoculars, save comrades from fulton parachute abduction, and take control of bipedal gun turrets.

Metal Gear Online will launch alongside the Phantom Pain's release on 1st September.
