Strategy RPG mash-up Project X Zone 2 headed West

Resident Evil! Yakuza! Mega Man! Soulcalibur! Tekken!

Capcom, Sega and Bandai Namco's Project X Zone 2 will arrive in the West this autumn for 3DS.

The strategy role-playing game sequel is the follow-up to the original Project X Zone, a character-stuffed crossover featuring some of each publisher's best-known faces.

Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil will all be playable in the sequel, as will Dante and Vergil from Devil May Cry, plus Jin and Kazuya from Tekken.

Mega Man X's X and Zero, Virtua Fighter's Kage and Akira, as well as Soulcalibur's Natsu will also be on the roster.

Other games represented with characters include Strider, Sakura Wars, Shinobi, Tales of Vesperia, .hack and Yakuza: Dead Souls.

The first Project X Zone shifted more than 400,000 copies, which was enough for the three companies to agree on developing a second slice.

A tactical RPG, the game features solo and pair units (characters) for players to control. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine work as a pair, for example, while Leon Kennedy works alone (no Ashley this time).
