See Cities: Skylines' unofficial SimCopter mod

This may actually take off.

A Cities: Skylines fan is attempting to turn the moddable city simulation into a version of classic flight simulation SimCopter.

Over on Reddit and YouTube, coder Nisquity has been showing off his work-in-progress builds for around a fortnight.

The mod, cunningly named CityCopter, has quickly grown to include collision detection, working rotors and a physical cockpit.

There's no time frame for when the add-on will be completed, but we'll hover around and report back when we have more information.

Last week, fellow modder Fr0sZ revealed a first-person Cities: Skylines multiplayer mod. It's still a work-in-progress - like CityCopter - but perhaps the two could be combined?

You can see an early version of the CityCopter mod running in the footage below. The video doesn't showcase the best flying ever recorded, but it does demonstrate that the mod now has its physics engine and collision detection running up to scratch.
