Newly revealed Bloodborne boss brings back old bones

Lightning returns.

Bloodborne developer From Software has revealed a new boss in its upcoming PS4-exclusive action horrorshow.

Dubbed Darkbeast Paarl, this fearsome foe is made entirely of bones and hair - making them the spiritual successor to Dark Soul's Nito, the Lord of the Dead, and Dark Souls 2's Nashandra, the Queen Regent of Drangleic - only this time the boney beast walks on all fours and has elongated limbs and a shocking mane that culminates in a coarse tail. IGN has the first gameplay footage showing the Darkbeast in action.

SCEJA PR manager Yasuhiro Kitao offered the following description of the creature on the PlayStation Blog:

"A malformed beast enveloped in blue lightning.

"With a long body made of only bones, and a wrinkle-covered skull, people say this beast must be very old, very ancient.

"Or perhaps, it is a descendent of the city of the plague of beasts."

Bloodborne is due on 27th March in the UK and Ireland. North Americans will get it on 24th March while PAL regions receive it on the 25th.
