Retro FPS Strafe gameplay rekindles memories of Quake

You can now watch 10 minutes of gameplay footage from Kickstarter hopeful Strafe, which showcase its retro FPS gameplay.

Evoking memories of elegant 1990s shooters such as Quake and Unreal, Strafe is designed to hark back to a more civilised age.

Or, at least, an age with permadeath, health refills and buckets of pixellated blood.

Strafe is currently approaching the half-way mark of its $185k crowd-funding goal. As of writing, some $61k has now been pledged via Kickstarter.

In the works for PC and Mac, developer Pixel Titans describes it as "the fastest, bloodiest, deadliest, most adjective-abusing, action-packed first-person shooter of 1996".
