Lumines and Meteos producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi said he was leaving game development in 2012 when he took up the role of a professor, but now he's back and he's making a new Lumines game.

Japanese social developer Mobcast acquired the rights to both Lumines and Meteos from Q Entertainment, the company announced (via Gematsu).

Mobcast will be working with Mizuguchi's new studio, Enhance Games, on a new Lumines title for iOS and Android.

It will retain the usual Lumines gameplay and tone, but will include new stages and Mobcast Social Victory Space (SVS) multiplayer support.
