Trials Fusion to receive free eight-player online multiplayer this year

Will make it so the player is always closest to the camera.

Trials Fusion will get a free update later this year adding online multiplayer and doubling the number of players from four to eight.

Here's how it will work: Right now Fusion's multiplayer puts players in four lanes as they race. The problem is that sometimes you're in the back and it can be harder than it should be to make out your avatar. This upcoming update will alter online multiplayer so that the player is always closes to the camera.

"To ensure everyone sees themselves as the closest rider, we render your rider on a different driving lane than the one your friends will see you on when they are playing with you," RedLynx creative director Antti Ilvessuo explained on the Ubisoft blog.

"This also makes it possible to now have up to eight players at the same time, all of whom will always be visible on the screen but never in your way. We're really stoked about it, and early tests already show it's a blast."

The eight-player multiplayer update will launch sometime later this year along with a PC multiplayer beta.
