Disney has pulled its Tiny Tower adaptation, Tiny Death Star, from the App Store and Google Play without telling the developer.
Tiny Death Star launched last November and was created by the Tiny Tower developer Nimblebit.
The studio's Ian Marsh told PocketGamer that it had no knowledge that Disney was going to pull the plug on the game.
He noted that Tiny Death Star was "a significant source of revenue for us, so it stings that much more."
Tiny Death Star is now only available on the Windows Store.
Disney confirmed to GameInformer that both Tiny Death Star and Disney Mobile's strategy collectible card game Star Wars Assault Team had both been removed so the publisher could focus on "priority titles" like Star Wars Commander.
"We're very disappointed to see Tiny Death Star shuttered less than a year after launch," Marsh said in a statement to GameInformer. "We had no prior knowledge that the game would be removed and no longer even have a contact at Disney after the recent layoffs. Suffice to say if you're a developer looking to partner with Disney this might not be the partnership you're looking for."
