Dead or Alive 5: Last Round announced for PS4 and Xbox One

UPDATE: European release and pricing confirmed, DLC transferrable.

UPDATE #2 2/9/14 3.45pm: Dead or Alive 5: Last Round has now been officially announced for Europe by publisher Koei Tecmo.

The game will arrive here during spring 2015 priced £34.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and £24.99 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Last-gen versions will only be released digitally, while editions for the newer consoles will also get a physical release.

DLC from Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will work with the new release, even if you move from PS3 to PS4 or from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

The game's character line-up will include: Hayabusa, Hayate, Kasumi, Ayane, Rig, Momiji, Leon, Kokoro, Tina, Lisa, Brad Wong, Jann Lee, Hitomi, Leifang, Christie, Eliot, Leon, Gen Fu, Bayman, Bass, Zack, Helena, Marie Rose, Phase 4 and newly released Nyotengu along with Akira, Pai, Jacky and Sarah Bryant from the Virtua Fighter series.

UPDATE 2/9/14 10.00am: A new Dead or Alive 5: Last Round trailer has been released by Koei Tecmo which includes logos for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of the game.

Last Round was previously thought to be just for PS4 and Xbox One. Watch the new footage below:

ORIGINAL STORY 1/9/14 4.00pm Tecmo Koei has announced Dead or Alive 5: Last Round for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The latest version of Team Ninja's fighter will arrive in Japan during spring 2015 - there's no word yet on a Western release date.

Producer Yosuke Hayashi revealed the new version at Japan Gamer's Live event (thanks, Gamespot) via the trailer below, which confirms the return of characters such as Ryu Hayabusa.

Last Round follows the launch of the original Dead or Alive 5 in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the updated DOA5 Ultimate and the the Vita port DOA5 Plus.
