NES Remix 1 and 2 getting disc-based compilation

Confirmed for US release this year - but what about Europe?

Wii U games NES Remix and NES Remix 2 are getting a combined physical release as the NES Remix Pack, Nintendo has announced.

The two titles, currently only available as downloads from the Wii U eShop, contain a mash-up of Nintendo's retro titles, transforming each into quick-fire challenges.

Nintendo classics in the medley include the original Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Punch-Out!!

This new compilation is already available in Japan (as the Famicon Remix 1 + 2), but it's the first we've heard of a Western release.

Due to launch in North America this "holiday", Nintendo UK told us that it had nothing to announce yet on a European date.

"As with many reconstituted products, NES Remix is immediately delicious," Simon Parkin wrote in Eurogamer's review, "but it inspires an obsession that it can't sustain for long."
