PC drivers for Xbox One controller now available

Plus, another Halo 2 Anniversary hint.

Now why would you be playing Halo 2 with an Xbox One controller, eh Microsoft?

Microsoft has released PC drivers for the Xbox One controller.

The new drivers mean you can use the Xbox One controller with any game that features support for the Xbox 360 controller. Tp get going download the drivers and connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable.

They'll be released as part of a Windows update in the near future, but you can grab them now from MajorNelson.com.

"We know our fans have wanted PC compatibility, and we know they wanted to be able to use the Xbox One controller with the same games and applications they have been playing with using the Xbox 360 controller," Microsoft mouthpiece Major Nelson said.

"We can't wait for them to play their favourite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made and we're excited for fans to experience the improved D-pad, redesigned battery compartment, new comfortable design and offset analog sticks."

Major Nelson's announcement included an image of the Halo 2 menu screen on a Windows Surface tablet with an Xbox One controller plugged into it - perhaps yet another tease that Halo 2 Anniversary will be revealed at E3 next week as part of the rumoured The Master Chief Collection.
