The first footage of From Software's new Souls-like game, Project Beast, has emerged.

NeoGAF members stitched together a handful of leaked clips to produce the video, which shows the player character running through a gnarled world, attacking 'trash' enemies and then approaching a boss that's slightly too far away to visually decipher. It appears to have lots of tendril-like arms - a cross between an octopus and a tree.

Project Beast is rumoured to be a PS4 exclusive - a collaboration between From Software and Sony Japan Studio (once upon a time, Sony Japan published Demon's Souls exclusively for PlayStation 3).

Souls creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki - now president of From Software - is the person in charge of Project Beast, having taken more of an overseer role on Dark Souls 2.

Will Project Beast be at E3? If I were Sony it would.
