ORIGINAL STORY 13/5/14 10.15am

There's another 3DS Pokémon game on the way - a free downloadable title named The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon.

Currently only confirmed for a Japanese launch, the title will let you collect Pokémon via StreetPassing other users, then take them into battle.

Announced in the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine (thanks, Serebii) the title stars sticker-shaped versions of famous Pokémon critters.

1000 Pokémon is due to launch ahead of the upcoming 17th Pokémon movie, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, which gets a Japanese cinema release in July.

Nintendo has recently confirmed several Pokémon games for release in the West - the re-made Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and the drawing spin-off Pokémon Art Academy.

Will 1000 Pokémon launch in Europe too? Nintendo UK told Eurogamer this morning that it had nothing to announce at this time.
