Ico-esque adventure The Girl and the Robot is coming to PS4

Successfully Kickstarted project also set for Wii U, PC, Mac and Linux.

Indie outfit Flying Carpets Games will be bringing its successfully Kickstarted fantasy adventure The Girl and the Robot to PS4, in addition to the already announced platforms: Wii U, PC, Mac and Linux.

"It seems like our game caught the attention of Sony and we managed to get a deal with them," said project lead Salim Larochelle in a Kickstarter update.

The Girl and the Robot follows in the footsteps of Ico as a young girl (in a white dress with a tan pattern, no less) befriends a robot and the two must work together to escape a castle lorded over by some mysterious sorceress.

Aside from its Studio Ghibli-inspired artwork, the primary difference between this and Ico is that The Girl and the Robot lets you switch between the two characters with the touch of a button. The Girl can crawl through smaller openings and climb, while the Robot is equipped for combat and moving heavy objects.

The game more than double its $15K Canadian goal last November with $38,033 CAD. It's tentatively scheduled for a December release.
