The Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition comes with a real life Spiny Shell, Nintendo has announced.

The collector's item comes atop a black and transparent frame. Check it out in the video below.

The £60 Limited Edition is available to pre-order now and is out on 30th May alongside the standard edition. Those who have already pre-ordered the Wii U racer will be given the opportunity to upgrade, Nintendo said.

Meanwhile, Nintendo said those who buy the SNES Super Mario Kart game from the eShop as a Wii U Virtual Console title (out 27th March) get a £5.49 discount off of Mario Kart 8 if they also buy it from the eShop. The Wii U Virtual Console Super Mario Kart is the US version of the game running at 60hz, and will be priced at £5.49. That offer is valid up to 30th June. Both purchases need to take place on the same Wii U console.
