Happy 2014 to you, and if it's your first day back at work many condolences. Like a lot of you, we're miserably contemplating our enlarged bellies and trying to remember how this whole working thing goes, so in the mean-time: lists!

Actually, we've decided against listing the most exciting or most interesting games of the next 12 months this year, and have instead asked a handful of our contributors to pick their own personal choice for their most anticipated game of 2014. There might be some omissions, then, but there'll also be an opportunity for each writer to explore why their own particular choice is worth getting hot under the collar about. There'll be ten of them coming over the course of the next five days. We kick off today with Christian Donlan looking at Blendo's promising Quadrilateral Cowboy.

You can get involved too, by picking your own single most anticipated game for 2014, as well as a short supporting statement on why you've made your choice. We'll then compile the results and get them back to you early next week.
