ORIGINAL STORY: Battlefield 4 developer DICE has responded to reports of the game crashing and freezing on PC and promised a patch is on the way.

DICE has listed all of the Battlefield 4 problems of which it is aware and their current status - some fixed, some still under investigation.

"We are working on a PC client patch at the moment and hope to release it soon," DICE wrote. "We will share the patch notes once we have the patch contents finalised. The main focus is to fix as many crashes as possible, starting with the issues affecting a large number of players."

The developer is also looking into reports of multiplayer progress being lost and single-player save files becoming corrupted across all platforms.

A fix for the PC build's multiplayer audio problems is on the way, and DICE is also investigating reports of promotional Battlepack items not appearing.

Four server updates have been pushed live so far, with a fifth on the way. Problems already resolved through tweaking server settings include missions not being created on Xbox 360 and a magazine reload bug while playing on Normal.

Battlefield 4 launched last week but didn't sell quite as much as Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, it was revealed this morning.
