The Crew has been delayed until Q3 2014

Longest. Red light. Ever.

Ubisoft's upcoming open-world racing game The Crew has been delayed from early 2014 until Q3 of next year on PS4 , Xbox One and PC.

"Our long term goal is to win the next generation," said Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot. "The tough decisions we are taking today to fully realise the major potential of our new creations have an impact on our short-term performance. We are convinced that, longer term, they will prove to be the right decisions both in terms of satisfaction for our fans and in terms of value creation for our shareholders. We are building franchises that will become perennial pillars of Ubisoft's financial performance."

The Crew is the second Ubisoft game to get delayed today. The other was Watch Dogs, which went from being a PS4 launch title to something that won't be out until next spring. All these delays will no doubt upset gamers, but as Shigeru Miyamoto once said, "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." We don't want Ubisoft to rush these games out the door and have them end up like the first Assassin's Creed do we? Granted Altair's somewhat lackluster debut still spawned six sequels in the same generation, so maybe we do.
