Sony unveils free-to-play LittleBigPlanet Hub

Headed to PlayStation 3 this year.

Sony has announced LittleBigPlanet Hub, a new free-to-play game in the sandbox series for PlayStation 3.

No gameplay footage was shown during the title's unveiling at Sony's Gamescom 2013 press conference, but we were treated to a Stephen Fry-narrated trailer showcasing the game's main points.

You'll be able to experiment with a huge variety of character customisation content - some free, some you'll buy. No further information was announced on the microtransaction options.

You'll also be able to once again create levels with a large variety of level elements and creation options and share your work with others.

The news tallies with a report in July that a new LittleBigPlanet game was in development for PlayStation 3, apparently at Sonic Racing developer Sumo Digital.
