Time Gentlemen, Please dev's multiplayer 2D shooter Gun Monkeys is out now on Steam

Two monkeys enter, one monkey leaves.

Ben There, Dan That and Time Gentlemen, Please developer Size Five Games has released its 2D competitive multiplayer platformer/shooter Gun Monkeys on Steam.

Currently 10 per cent off at £6.29 / $8.99 (or £9.44 / $13.49 for two), Gun Monkeys is a procedurally-generated deathmatch game based around one-on-one battles.

The premise revolves around modern day power companies sending monkeys into a post-apocalyptic future to gather energy, which they can then bring back to the present. Of course, other companies have the same idea, leading to futuristic armed monkey combat.

"I'm declaring Gun Monkeys launched in an ultra-special 'Gamma' phase of development," said Size Five's Dan Marshall. "Technically it's Gold, it works beautifully, but please don't shout at me just yet if there are a few teething problems. Frankly, if the likes of EA and Blizzard can't launch an online game without any server hitches whatsoever, I stand no f****** chance."

Gun Monkeys is currently available on PC and Mac, with a Linux version on the way.
