MIA Final Fantasy action spin-off Final Fantasy Versus 13 has become Final Fantasy 15, a PlayStation 4 game.

Creator Tetsuya Nomura announced the news during Sony's E3 press conference after a trailer showed the game in action.

Square Enix's trademark CGI exuberance was in full effect, but we also saw action-packed gameplay sections - there didn't appear to be much in the way of turn-based fighting.

No release date for the game was mentioned.
