The Jagged Alliance: Flashback Kickstarter has done it, raised the dough

Old military mercenary strategy RPG to return.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback has done it - raised $350,000 on Kickstarter - and with only hours to spare.

Space Hulk developer Full Control can now "reset" (its own words) one of the oldest turn-based military RPG series around, for PC (Windows and Linux) and Mac.

Flashback takes you back to the '80s, and to the Cold War hotbed of the Caribbean. Your organisation of mercenaries has orders from the CIA to get rid of the Russians from the island of San Christobal.

Like in XCOM, you control a base where you train mercenaries and research new tech. It's your hub where you manage resources and pick which missions to do next.

Pre-production will begin on Jagged Alliance: Flashback while Full Control wraps production on Space Hulk, due this autumn on PC and Mac.

It's an experienced studio using the Unity engine, and the plan is to have Jagged Alliance: Flashback out late in 2014.

The first stretch goal is $375,000, which will add mountains and mines and mining towns - a source of income. At $400,000, a map editor will be developed.
